The Chinese Embassy in Ghana has opened a visa application center in Accra.

The center, which was built in conjunction with the China Tourism Group Corporation Limited, is designed to serve Ghanaian visa applicants with efficient and high-quality services. This measure is expected to simplify and expedite the processing of visa applications for people traveling from Ghana to China.

His Majesty The Chinese ambassador to Ghana, Lu Kun, stressed the importance of the center as a reaction to the predicted increase in Ghanaians interested in visiting China. Mr. Lu stated that the Accra center follows worldwide principles and intends to provide more convenient, high-quality services to visa applicants.

Lu emphasized the center's potential impact on bilateral relations between China and Ghana, picturing it as a catalyst for boosting people-to-people encounters and further deepening ties between the two countries. He also emphasized the thriving economic and trade interactions, with China remaining Ghana's primary trading partner.

Ghana's deputy minister for international affairs and regional integration, Mavis Nkansah Boadu, extended a cordial welcome to the visa application center. Boadu regarded the occasion as an important milestone, indicating both countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

Boadu stressed that Ghana prioritizes improving its connections with China and is committed to increasing people-to-people interactions. 

She agreed that the center's development will benefit not only tourism but also commercial collaborations, academic alliances, and cultural exchanges between China and Ghana.

Boadu also announced Ghana's reciprocal efforts to recognize the Chinese government's excellent initiatives in building modern visa application systems with greater security features. She said that Ghana is putting in place a machine-readable visa hardware system to strengthen the security of its visa application process.
