Arsenal's Takehiro Tomiyasu has confirmed he underwent knee surgery this week. He is the third Arsenal player to undergo this procedure in the last month, following Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. 

While Tomiyasu didn't give a specific return timeframe, media reports indicate he's likely to miss the rest of the season. "I've had surgery on my knee a few days ago and I've already started my rehab to do what I love the most again," 

Victor Osimhen secured a crucial victory for Galatasaray. 

Tomiyasu wrote on Instagram, adding, "It has been the toughest period in my career for sure and it carries on a bit more, but I won't give up." 

The Japanese international, who joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2021, made 30 appearances last season but has only played six minutes this season due to injury. 

Arsenal, currently seven points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, play West Ham at home on Saturday.
