VINICIUS JUNIOR: Real Madrid aims to lock Vinicius into a fresh, long-term deal.

Vinicius Junior is here to stay! Real Madrid is set to secure the Brazilian star with a new long-term contract. He aspires to rival Kylian Mbappe as one of the highest-paid players.

Real Madrid is reportedly preparing to secure Vinicius Junior with a new long-term contract, aiming to fend off mounting interest from Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian star has enjoyed a stellar 2024, delivering his finest performances to date and earning the FIFA The Best Men's Player award. His pivotal role in guiding Madrid to La Liga and Champions League victories has solidified his status as one of the world's elite players.

As the summer of 2025 nears, when Vinicius will enter the final two years of his current deal, Madrid is set to begin negotiations to ensure his commitment to the club, according to AS. Having joined Madrid as an 18-year-old on a modest €1.5 million annual salary, Vinicius signed a renewed contract in October 2023, which included a significant pay raise and an eye-watering €1 billion (£846m/$1.1bn) release clause—emphasizing his critical importance to the team. Despite the raise, his salary still falls short of top earners like David Alaba, and the Brazilian now seeks parity with marquee names such as Kylian Mbappe.

Saudi Arabia's football ambitions became evident last summer when Al-Ahli reportedly offered Vinicius a deal that would have made him the highest-paid athlete in history. Madrid, however, dismissed any discussions, citing the massive release clause. Reports indicate Saudi representatives remain determined to pursue Vinicius again in 2025, with speculation of a long-term deal exceeding €1 billion in salary and bonuses.

Recognizing Vinicius as irreplaceable, Real Madrid plans to act decisively next summer. The club, known for renewing pivotal players' contracts as they approach the final two years, is expected to offer a package reflecting Vinicius’ contributions both on and off the pitch. His current season has further underscored his influence, often matching or surpassing that of Kylian Mbappe.

With Saudi Arabia’s ambitions in the background, Madrid is determined to ensure Vinicius remains at the Bernabéu, offering a deal that aligns with his market value and reinforces his stature as a cornerstone of the club’s global dominance.
