Federico Valverde returns to the Real Madrid squad for their Champions League derby match against Atletico Madrid, as confirmed in the official squad list.

Real Madrid has officially disclosed the list of players selected for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Atlético Madrid. Notably, Federico Valverde has been included in the squad, marking his return after a period of absence due to injury.

 

Real Madrid will have Federico Valverde available for the first leg of their Champions League derby against Atlético Madrid. The Uruguayan midfielder, who has been absent from recent fixtures due to injury, has been included in the announced squad.

Carlo Ancelotti has indicated that should Valverde be selected for the match, he is slated to commence play in the right-back position. This strategic deployment is intended to facilitate Valverde's complete return to match fitness in advance of facing Atlético Madrid.

There is a potential risk that seven players may be unavailable for return League of Madrid's UCL Derby.  

However, Real Madrid will be without the services of Jude Bellingham for this encounter. The English midfielder is serving a suspension due to an accumulation of yellow cards and is therefore unavailable for selection at the Santiago Bernabeu.
