The passing of former President Jimmy Carter at the age of 100 on December 29, 2024, has raised questions regarding who will attend his upcoming funeral. 

As preparations for the state funeral are underway, attention has focused on the expected attendees.

Despite past tensions between President Donald Trump and Carter, it is highly likely that Trump will attend the funeral. As a former president himself, Trump is expected to pay his respects, irrespective of their political differences. 

The tradition of former presidents attending the funerals of their predecessors generally transcends party affiliations and personal disagreements.

However, no official confirmation has been made regarding his attendance. 

It is widely anticipated that all four living former U.S. presidents—Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Trump—will be present at Carter’s state funeral.

Regarding funeral arrangements, while specific details have yet to be disclosed, it is expected that the service will take place at Washington National Cathedral, following a three-day lying-in-state at the Capitol Rotunda.
